The Sacramento Regional Transit District’s Green Line to the River District project was the first phase of the Green Line to the Airport that will extend light rail 12.8 miles north from downtown Sacramento to the River District, the Natomas communities and the Sacramento International Airport.
The first phase extended light rail 1.1 miles north connecting downtown Sacramento to the River District. The project included two light rail stations: 8th &H/County Center Station and 7th & Richards/Township 9 Station.

The Blue Line to Cosumnes River College (CRC) light rail extension project (also referred to as South Line Phase 2) will extend light rail 4.3 miles from the existing terminus at Meadowview Road to CRC.
The Blue Line to CRC project will add four new light rail stations (Morrison Creek, Franklin, Center Parkway and Cosumnes River College), 2,700 park-and-ride spaces and a new transit center at the Cosumnes River College Station located near Highway 99.
Construction has begun and revenue service is anticipated to begin in September 2015.
